The funding from our principal sponsor, Refining New Zealand, has been vital in providing the catalyst for the results we have been able to achieve since 2010. As neighbours at the entrance toWhangareiHarbour, we have contrasting yet complimentary roles.

Collectively we hope to provide an international model of best practice as a nationally significant scenic reserve and heavy industry in an environmentally sensitive area – one providing employment and of strategic national importance, and the other providing a strong heritage value to Whangarei’s lifestyle and sense of place.

The Trust’s other sponsors, the ASB Community Trust, BNZ Save the Kiwi and the Charities Commission, have all been supportive of our restoration initiatives.

The Trust’s management partnership with the Department of Conservation is growing from strength to strength as the Trust improves its on the ground capacity, capability and funding.

The Northland Regional Council has assisted us in a combined effort with the wider community to focus on kiwi and predator control with the Whangarei Heads Landcare Forum, whose territory covers the Whangarei Heads and Parua Bay region.

It is recognised that we all need to work together in our endeavours to create successful restoration of the Bream Head Scenic Reserve.

The Trust would like to acknowledge and thank the following organisations for their ongoing support.
